Personal Background:

My personal background is that I am the oldest of seven children.  My father was in the Navy for 20 years and my mom was a  registered nurse.  My parents have passed, but my three sisters and three brothers live all over the country.  One of my brothers lives in Dallas, but hates the Cowboys and is still a die hard Packer fan.  I have been married to my wife Sue for 31 years. She was the head of the Hot Lunch program at St. Francis of Assisi Elementary Schoo in Manitowoc for 19 years.  My son Will is 26 and he works as a mechanic in Manitowoc.  He also owns Third Gen Salvage. Physical Education and Health Teacher

Teaching Background

When you see me, you will be able to see that I am not a "newbie."  I have been in the educational field for 42 years.  I have taught Social Studies, Religion, and Physical Education. I have coached football, basketball and baseball at the middle school level.  Most of my educational career has been as a principal of 37 years, mostly at Cabrini ( now St. Francis of Assisi) Middle School in Manitowoc.  I was the first principal of the school.  Going back into working with young people as a teacher is the real reason God called me to do His work.

Education Background

I received my Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Social Studies from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater.  I earned my  Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.  Although I have a lot of educational experience, I have learned more from parents and kids than I have learned from any book. Besides, learning from people is more fun.

What do I value about teaching in a Catholic School?

When I was in ninth grade I wanted to be a teacher and coach.  My calling to teach ( in a Catholic School) was to give back to my parents for giving me the opportunity to work for God as an educator. Catholic education has allowed me to serve God in a way that can make a difference in the lives of young people.

Why do I believe a Catholic education is important?

What do I love most about HFCS?

I have had the opportunity to meet many of you at Open House. Meeting you has given me first hand the impression that Holy Family School is warm, caring and truly lives out its Mission Statement. I will feel privileged in working with your child and talking to you.
